Ajman vence Al Ahli por 2-0 sem Quaresma

O Ajman derrotou o Al Ahli por 2-0. Quaresma não jogou e parece que vai demorar pelo menos duas semanas a sua estreia no clube de Dubai:

«Ricardo Quaresma is at least two weeks away from being ready to play which means he is expected to miss the crucial top of the table clash with Al Ain on Monday.
The much-hyped Portuguese winger is eligible to make his debut tonight in the Etisalat Cup against Ajman, but won’t do so as he is short of match fitness, according to Ahli coach Quique Sanchez Flores.
Perhaps more importantly will be Quaresma’s absence from Ahli’s Pro League game against table toppers Al Ain. The reigning champions are eight points clear of third-placed Ahli and the Dubai-based club’s hopes of winning the title could very much hinge on the outcome of Monday’s match.
And to make matters worse for Ahli, Quaresma would also be a doubt for the following week’s game with second place Al Jazira.
“Quaresma won’t play,” confirmed Flores, when asked if he was tempted to plunge his star signing straight into the action.
“He’s not ready, he’s training at the moment. His weight is not a problem, he needs another week to train and get fit, then we need to get him the ball and get him doing physical work.
“I think maybe in the next two weeks he can be at his best, but at the moment we have to train a lot with him.
“We have to get him (acclimatised) as quickly as possible so he can play with the club over the next few weeks.”
Cup holders Ahli are already out of the competition with just two points from four games. Tonight, the Red Knights are without suspended skipper Grafite and Abdulaziz Haikal, Abdulaziz Sanqoor, Ismail Al Hamadi, Ahmed Khalil and Majid Hassan who are with the UAE team on Gulf Cup duty.
“We have known since the first moment that this competition would be very difficult for us because we played tough teams and we’ve been playing without a lot of our players," Quique added.
“Instead, we try to play these games to test our players. We always want to win, but the big thing is testing these players.”
In Group B, no team can guarantee qualification into the next round today with Al Wasl and Al Jazira the only teams playing. In Group A, Al Nasr and Al Shaab face off in a dead-rubber game with teams already eliminated.»
